The Cameroon Psychology Forum, known by its acronym FOCAP is a non-governmental institution of research, that brings together professionals in the domain of behaviour research with the objective of contributing towards the understanding and resolution of problems confronting contemporary society.

FOCAP is the initiative of a group of eminent scientists and academics who have worked to put together a multidisciplinary team that is capable of meeting the trandisciplinary requirements of contemporary scientific activity.

FOCAP is legally recognised and has functioned since 1992 within the ambit of its established goal.

The motto of the institution : "Scientia ad servandum" a Latin translation of the expression «science for service», shows FOCAP’s determination to translate into something concrete, the results of its scientific activities to the benefit of those direly in need. The purpose and orientation of the organisation is thus, tilted directly towards application, while experimental activities are conducted as an essential platform for the conceptualisation of interventions proposed or realised. The purpose being to establish a direct relationship between laboratory work and the immediate needs of the population.

In all, the goal of FOCAP is to put social sciences at the service of human development in way that is sustainable.
